My Approach

My approach to therapy focuses on using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, or EMDR. The sessions are structured to move through the 8 Phases of EMDR and to help alleviate feeling dysregulated, not feeling like yourself, or reducing repetitive negative thoughts associated with upsetting experiences.

During our EMDR sessions, I may also incorporate aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

In-person Sessions

I offer in-person individual EMDR therapy sessions in Royal Oak, Michigan.

I am located at 1320 N. Campbell Road in Suite 9. It is the big white industrial building right next door to Oak Diner.

While I encourage my clients to come as their authentic selves and to be comfortable, please be dressed appropriately and ensure that you are not under the influence of substances.

Special note: if you are concerned about the spread of COVID-19 and other potential illnesses but are still wanting in-person sessions, I am more than happy to wear and provide masks, provide appropriate physical distancing during sessions, and try to make reasonable accommodations. I take your mental health, your physical health, and sense of security within sessions seriously.

Please do not come into the office if you are feeling sick and/or are actively symptomatic.

If additional accommodations are needed in order to participate in in-person sessions, please inform me ahead of time and I am happy to do my best.

Telehealth Sessions

I offer EMDR telehealth sessions for residents of Michigan and Illinois through my medical record's HIPAA-compliant service. I also use HIPAA-compliant Zoom as a back-up if needed.

In order to engage in telehealth sessions, the following must be considered:

  • You are physically located in the state of Michigan or in the state of Illinois at the time of your session. I cannot conduct a therapy session if you are not in the states I hold active licenses in.
  • You are not actively driving at the time of our session.
  • You have a secure, stable Internet connection for the entirety of the session.
  • Similarly to in-person sessions, you are dressed appropriately, alert, and not under the influence of any substances.
